You are a Pain in the Neck!

2 Corinthians 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.(NKJ)

Many years ago we went to see a famous prophet speak, and this prophet told a story of two guys following him around to every meeting he had.

Now, these two guys did not approve of  his style of preaching, much less his prophetic gifting.  These two  had a mission, and it was to irritate him while he was speaking.  To make matters worse, they always made sure they had the front row seats.

Reading the above passage, do you think Paul had people harrasing him?  I had read that the thorn in his side was slang for the day of someone being a pain in the neck.  Would you think, like the famous prophet we went to see, had a  thorn on his side by his two buddies sitting in the front row?

If you read the verse carefully, Paul was operating in an abundance of revelations.  This guy was a walking MRI!  If this prophet we went to see had a couple of messengers of a Satan to buffet him, I am sure Paul had his share.

Consider the verse in Matthew 3:11 “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.(NKJ)

All this is saying is that John the Baptist cannot walk in the shoes that Jesus walked in.  Slang for the day.

Sometimes we try to get too anaylytical  regarding the Bible, and miss the message.  But if we read it in it´s full context and ask the Holy Spirit for guidance, He will do His job, and we understand the word better.

With that said, doing so makes it easier for us to understand His word and we continue growing in Him.

Blessings  in Him.

Possess the Land the Lord Has Given You

Joshua 1:3 “Every place that the sole of your foot  will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses.
Joshua 1:5 “No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.

I read this  verse in going through my Bible reading.  A familiar passage,  I thought I would just keep  reading,  but the Holy Spirit stopped me.  I began to meditate on this scripture a bit more.  So I asked a simple question.  What land do I have that has not been possessed properly?

We usually refer to this passage of scripture as a physical piece of land. But did you know that your land can consist of other things?

Did you ever stop to think that your ministry is a piece of land that the Lord has given you?   What about your spiritual gifts?  Has those  gifts been developed and  nurtured properly?   What if you are a writer?  Is your writing growing and  producing?

How about your work?  Do you need to excel, obtain a raise or receive a promotion? That is land that needs to be possessed.  As we pursue what the Lord has given us, the scripture promises us that He will  not leave us nor forsake us.

So what is your land?  Go ahead, place the sole of your feet upon it, and possess it!

The Holy Spirits Authority

Zechariah 4:6 So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the LORD of hosts.

Have you ever been in a situation and you just don´t know how or what to pray?  Have you ever been at a loss for words?

I have been there, and believe me it can be a bit frustrating.  The scriptures says that when Jesus ascended to heaven, he would send down a comforter,  that being the Holy Spirit.

Look at the picuture above.  It is a rock, and in the middle there is hole.  The hole is caused by the water.  Water of course symbolizes the Holy Spirit.  When  I or others have been in situations where we are at a loss for words, we would just pray in the spirit, the entire time believing the Lord will answer our prayers.

Did you know that Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit, and with that the authority to make a way in that rock so that we can see the end result?  We may not see the result or answer right a way, but as we persist and are faithful, the Lords faithfulness will complete it.

What areas are you facing today where there seems to be no  way out?   Use the authority that has been given to you, and begin seeing the results to your prayers.
